Thea Boatswain
Personal Trainer & Nutrition Coach

Training Philosophy

The most rewarding part of my career is supporting my clients as they set and work toward achieving short and long term goals. I enjoy being a motivator and a confidant. Together we work toward implementing healthy lifestyle choices for not only themselves, but for their family as well. I am passionate about what I do and whom I work with. I am very compassionate and empathetic regarding each individual's personal barriers and struggles.

I love what I do, and just like everyone else, I have gone through highs and lows along my own personal fitness journey. I can relate to what it takes to overcome this sometimes vicious cycle, and I am truly able to understand the mental and emotional baggage that can be carried when you just don't feel comfortable in your own skin.

Ive found along the way that my passion for what I do makes this more than a job for me.  This is my career.  I see my passion reflected back to me when I watch my clients push and challenge themselves to achieve the goals they have set for themselves, and I know THIS is where I need to be.

I fell in love with fitness while running track in high-school. I began making fitness a major part of my lifestyle in 2012 when I first got my Zumba instructor certification and started teaching in Atlanta, GA. Then in 2013 I quit my government job to pursue fitness and nutrition full time by forming my own business and contracting with different gyms to teach my strength classes. After then, I haven't looked back.I currently have a degree in Food nad Nutrition from The University of Alabama and Iā€™m months away from obtaining my license to practice as a registered dietitian. I never thought that being a personal trainer would take me down this path of returning to school to dedicate myself to the wellbeing of other people but I couldn't have chosen a better profession to give back to my community with.

With over fours years of experience and a diverse training background, I create specific, individualized, full functional training and weight loss programs for each client. By focusing on body alignment and development of muscular strength and endurance, as well as cardiovascular strength and endurance, I tailor each program to the client's goals.

I have a B.S. and M.S. in Animal Science and a B.S. in Dietetics.  I am certified through the American Fitness and Athletics Association (AFAA) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Certified Personal Trainer & Group Fitness Instructor. I am also a Zumba Instructor and a Spin Instructor through Madd Dog Athletics. I am currently pursuing my Pilates certification and the Strength and Conditioning Coach Specialist.
